Creating healthy dishes using organic food products
MANY people still have the perception that organic food is tasteless and that it must be vegetarian.
“This is not the case, so we developed a few recipes using organic food products and we received good feedback about it and we wanted our customers to learn it,” said Alive Group nutritionist Sai Chia Chin, 28.
Alive Group recently teamed up with Pacific Regency Hotel Suites to host a cooking demonstration for the company’s VIP members, loyal customers and dealers.
Alive Group chef Casper Teoh, 26, demonstrated how to make the Organic Asam Laksa with Buckwheat Noodles; Stir-fried Organic Black Rice with Pineapple; and the Organic Arrabiata Udon Noodles with Tenderising Tomato Based Sauce.
Sai said the company stocked a range of organic products including groceries, cosmetics, beauty products and even perfumes.
“We are also the sole distributors of certain brands and we are careful in choosing the brands with the same philosophy as us,” she said.
The organic food products include items like sauces, noodles, coffee and even baby food that was available at selected organic food stores, pharmacies and grocery stores.
Sai explained that the company founder Teh Lilin, who started off as a lymphatic therapist who used organic massage oils and essential oils for her treatments.
“Customers then wanted other products for skincare and health care so she started bringing in these products,” she said.
She said one of their flagship products was the Nutrigracia energised organic groceries.
Sai said an organic lifestyle was not only about the food that we consume but also about having the right attitude.
“We believe that for the products to have any effect, the body, mind and soul must also be balanced. We can eat all the good food but if we have emotional problems, our overall health will also be affected.
“That is why Alive also believes in educating people through our newsletters and training courses,” she said.
She added that the company also operated an organic kitchen at their office in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, selling organic cooked foods.
“The breakfast items are available for takeaway and we deliver the lunch sets to nearby offices,” she said.
